Our very own iPhone app
Have you ever tapped around this very website on your iPhone thinking, “I need an even faster way to see The Parlour’s flavor lists” or “I sure wish I could use Apple Pay to order this cake“? Have we got an app for you!
We call it The Parlour: Durham Ice Cream (we had a funner name for version 1.0 but it was harder to find in App Store search) and it works on iPhone or iPad running iOS/iPadOS 26.0 and up. It does 2 main things.
Flavor Lists
The app shows you all the flavors available at both locations, plus the Archive: a list of every flavor we’ve made and remembered to publish on our web site. You can also mark flavors as Favorites, and opt in to get push notifications when your Favorites show up on the menu at one of our shops. Right now it’s just iPhone push notifications, no email or text. If you don’t log in, the Favorites are not tied to your identity in any way.
Special Orders
We just sent version 2.0 to the App Store. Once it gets released, you’ll be able to use it to preorder the following items for pickup at our downtown location:
- Ice Cream Cakes
- Ice Cream by the Gallon
- Ice Cream Sandwich Packs
Wholesale customers can order wholesale products for pickup and delivery too!
It works pretty much like ordering from our website: choose your options, add to Cart, then head to Checkout to select a pickup date and give us your contact info. You can use Apple Pay methods on your device, manually enter a credit card, or use a The Parlour gift cards (you can even split a payment across gift card and credit). If you create a customer account (or you already have one from a previous website order): you can see all your orders, manage saved payment methods, and even contact the staff about upcoming orders.
