UPDATE: The mayor will be issuing a stay-at-home order starting tomorrow, so we won’t be reopening after all. We appreciate everyone who considers our ice cream an essential, but we also want to do our part to encourage folks to stay home.
Hey everyone. We wanted to let everyone know a few things:
As of this week, we had to lay off our entire staff with two weeks pay. We still don’t know if and when we’ll be able to reopen with enough business to employ staff, though we hope to rehire every employee that we had to let go. In the meantime, we’re hoping to do some kind of fundraiser for our former staff members, and will update here if and when that happens. You can also donate to several local fundraisers for restaurant staff, if you have the means to do so.
For now, Yoni and I will be trying out a new contactless pickup system this week. Our tentative hours will be Wednesday-Saturday, 2-7 p.m. Here’s how it’ll work:
You’ll be able to place your order and pay on our online shop. When you arrive at the shop to pick up your order, you’ll wait at the designated waiting area (by the sandwich board!) and call our shop number at (919) 564-7999 to let us know the name on your order. We’ll place your order on the table outside, and once we’re back inside, you can pick up your order and go!
We’ve also finished testing every recipe for our e-book. Hopefully this will completed by the end of the week – but there’s still a lot to do in terms of editing. We’ll update again once it’s ready for sale. We hope everyone is staying healthy in this difficult time.
